Architecture Update: From covens to fast cars
THIS WEEK saw the return of the lively One Foot in the Past series on BBC 2, with reports on the Ministry of Defence's attitude to historic buildings under its control, and the discovery of what happened to the Euston Arch (most of it ended up in the River Lea).
Forthcoming episodes include Alan Clark, former arms procurement minister, talking about Brooklands motor racing track, a viewers' guide to modern buildings that should be listed, and a search for the Skylon, the Space Age mast designed by Powell and Moya, and one of the highpoints of the Festival of Britain.
