Police in Bristol were presumably warned that the gangs of graffiti artists descending on the city had been invited to the home of Banksy for Europe's biggest street art festival.
The only opposition to the See No Evil event has come from Tory councillors angry with their Liberal Democrat counterparts for helping to fund it.
Nelson Street has been transformed by artists who have gathered from all over the world in a city that, thanks to Banksy, has helped turned graffiti into art.
The constabulary are even getting involved, presenting a section of wall this afternoon to be coloured in by visitors. Officers will also, however, hand out leaflets reminding would-be Banksy's of the law.
