The Council of Europe's Human Rights Building in Strasbourg has been officially opened by Vaclav Havel, the President of the Czech Republic. Operational since January, the new home of the European Court of Justice, the European Commission of Human Rights and the Human Rights Directorate has been designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership with Claude Bucher in Strasbourg. The building curves around a canal, river and wood on the Quai Ernest Bevin.
