St Ethelburga, the City of London church, badly damaged by the Bishopsgate bomb of 1993, will be left as a partial ruin. A competition won by architects Blee Ettwein and Bridges will see the church transformed gently into a "poignant memorial" to those who died in the blast. The walls of the Grade I listed church will be seen through a new glass-fronted lobby, while inside a gallery and mezzanine will connect the ruins of the church to parish offices.
