Selfridge's heiress gives £8m to arts
Arts organisations including the Donmar Warehouse are to benefit from a donation of £8.2m.
Dame Vivien Duffield announced the donation yesterday, with other beneficiaries including the Museum of Liverpool and the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has given £400m to good causes.
The peer, 64, inherited her fortune from her father Sir Charles Clore, former owner of Selfridge's department store. "It has always been my pleasure to give," she said.
