A customised coffin from Ghana in the shape of a lion, and another like a Mercedes, feature in an exhibition celebrating death.

The three-day festival at the Southbank Centre in London, from 27 January, will see medical experts, funeral directors and scientists give their accounts of death.

Artists, philosophers and writers will explore the issues behind it, from assisted suicide to the fate of the bodies of such figures as Jesus Christ and Muammar Gaddafi.
