Art 96

A unique opportunity to view the pick of Britain's commercial art galleries in one place. One hundred dealers exhibit, covering the range of contemporary British art and including such avant-gardistes as Jay Jopling, Karsten Schubert and Jibby Beane.

Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, Islington, London N1 (0171-288 6446). Tomorrow to 21 Jan

Gary Hume

Another chance to see the work of this acclaimed young painter, first shown last year at the ICA. Huge, post-pop pictures in household gloss which reflect the artist's philosophy that "painting is an utterly sexual affair".

Spacex Gallery, 45 Preston Street, Exeter (01392 431786). To 17 Feb

Jana Sterbak

Recent work by the Czech surrealist who uses body forms to create elegant, enigmatic sculptures. Her materials include rubber, video, chocolate and meat. Her theme, the absurdity of life, is now a well-worn 20th-century obsession, but no less powerful for that. The year's most interesting show so far.

Serpentine Gallery, Kensington Gardens, London W2 (0171-402 6075). Tomorrow to 25 Feb
