During the week of October 4 artwork by this year's shortlisted Turner Prize artists will be on show at the Tate Britain. In Singapore, visitors to ARTSingapore will discover new trends in the contemporary Asian art market.

Turner Prize 2010 exhibition

The often controversial Turner Prize was established in 1984 and is awarded to a British artist under 50 for his or her outstanding exhibition or other presentation of work in the 12 months preceding April 27, 2010. This year's shortlisted artists are Dexter Dalwood, Angela de la Cruz, Susan Philipsz and The Otolith Group. Works by the shortlisted artists will be shown in an exhibition at Tate Britain opening on October 4. The winner will be announced at Tate Britain on December 6 during a live broadcast by Channel 4.

YouTube Play. A Biennial of Creative Video is a new competition launched by video-sharing website YouTube and New York's Guggenheim Museum that aims both to inspire the creation of new video works and to showcase the far-ranging possibilities of a screen-based exhibition. Twenty of the more than 23,000 submitted videos will be available for public viewing at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, then the Guggenheim Museums in Bilbao, Berlin and Venice from October 22 to 24. The shortlisted videos can also be viewed online.
