Another useful anthology of stories by a varied group of 50 writers - Simon Armitage, George Mackay Brown, Carlo Gebler, Glyn Maxwell, Iain Sinclair, Fay Weldon and many others. Only two of the authors - Esther Freud and Helen Simpson - are also on the recently published panel of Britain's 20 best young writers. Impossible to say what that tells us.
