Donald Trump is now a Marvel supervillain
Less presidential nominee, more "Mental Organism Designed As America's King"
Marvel has obviously been scouring the news for inspiration regarding the latest instalment of one of its comic book series.
A new issue titled Spider-Gwen Annual #1 appears to reimagine a classic supervillain as presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Set in an alternate universe which sees Spider-Man alter-ego Peter Parker's love interest (played by Emma Stone in The Amazing Spider-Man films) as the one to be bitten by a radioactive spider, Comicbook.com reports how the issue transforms M.O.D.O.K ("Mobile Organism Designed Only For Killing") into M.O.D.A.A.K. ("Mental Organism Designed As America's King") - only this incarnation of the baddie bears a striking resemblance to the likely US Republican nominee.
"Back on your feet, foreign filth," the character is depicted as saying before a female version of Captain America shows up to defeat him.
The Mary Sue reports that the same issue also sees Marvel villain Baron Blood getting a Prince-style makeover.
Marvel has a history of reimagining renowned figures in its comic book series with both Barack Obama and Muhammad Ali making appearances in issues past.
