Show all 2In the UK, the best-selling book during the month of February was Mums Know Best: The Hairy Bikers' Family Cookbook, written by the hosts of the BBC's "Hairy Bikers" television series. In the US, the month's best-selling title was A Patriot's History of the United States, a historical account from Columbus's discovery of the continent through the present day.
Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy and Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books continue to dominate the UK bestseller charts, with all three of Larsson's thriller books and two of Meyer's vampire titles making the top ten. Other popular titles include Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones, which was adapted into a motion picture, as well as two additional cookbook titles and a selection from L J Smith's young adult series The Vampire Diaries.
Food writer Michael Pollan's guide to healthy eating, Food Rules, was a top title in the US, followed by Katherine Stockett's The Help, a novel set during the American civil rights movement. Other popular titles: StrengthsFinder 2.0, which features a new aptitude test; Game Change, a political non-fiction title; selections from Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson young adult series, of which one book has been adapted into a movie; and a title from Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse vampire series.
