Unlike fellow crime-writer, Sue Grafton, whose titles will run out when she hits Z is for..., Evanovich's numbered Stephanie Plum mysteries can keep coming ad infinitum, and they do.
This summer offering finds Stephanie, Trenton-based bounty hunter, cooking up a storm. The severed head of a celebrity chef has been spotted bouncing down Ramsey Street, and co-worker Lulu is the only witness to the crime. A cook-off is arranged to entrap the murderer, and the girls put their best rib-sticking recipes to the test. Rest assured, this is no forensic feast of body parts – Evanovich's heroine is more interested in "hottie" police officers and catching up with Grandma Mazur. The Hollywood version of Plum's debut mystery, One for the Money, is due to be released next year.
