31-year-old Miyuki Woodward is on her annual solo holiday in Wales, eating junk, relishing missing her lover and counting sneezes. As in most of Rhodes's writing, nothing happens – until something enormous just casually does. More story and less whimsy than much of his work, this retains the bitter humour that fans love. Deceptively light, it is flecked with gold, just like Mijuki's nostrils after spray-painting a rock.
