This about-to-be successful re-issue of the successful book, published to coincide with the successful film, goes to prove the backwards mantra that nothing succeeds like failure.
Toby Young is a weird anti-hero, oiling his way around Vanity Fair and New York in the 1990s as a cocky young Brit on the make, causing dyspeptic resentment everywhere he goes. His social graces run to hiring a strippergram for the "bring your daughter to work" day. Nobody will like him and he won't care, as long as they buy this diverting but ultimately unfulfilling book.
