Stalker! Chris Walker: The Autobiography

Chris Walker is an unlucky racer; all too often, just as he seems to be on the right motorcycle in the right place at the right time, something an injury, team problems happens to spoil things. British Superbike runner-up four times and on the podium a dozen times in World Superbikes, he has never won a senior title, yet he is undoubtedly Britain's most popular rider. His tale of a rise from motocrossing as a lad around his native Nottinghamshire goes a long way to explaining why, as he keeps battling on through adversity. The many corner-by-corner accounts of races will appeal more to the committed fan but the tales of contract wrangles and rider rivalries are gripping, as are Walker's off-track exploits, as he drives round Europe in his motorhome leaving behind him a trail of speeding tickets and discarded knickers. PC he is not he dubs his most obsessed fans Jean the Stalker, Two-Litre Rita and Deaf Geoff but brave and honest he most certainly is.
