On October 6 it was announced that the third volume of Haruki Murakami's best-selling novel 1Q84 will be released next summer, according to The Japan Times.
The second installment sold in record-breaking numbers upon its Japanese release in late May. Cumulatively, the two works have sold more than 2.2 million copies.
There is still no release date for an English translation of the two volumes of 1Q84, which can be read as "1984" in Japanese.
Murakami is routinely mentioned as a serious contender for the Nobel Literature Prize as his works have been translated into almost 40 languages, including the titles Norwegian Wood, Kafka on the Shore and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
