For their Bach Cantata Pilgrimage in 2000, 250 years after the death of JS Bach, John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir and Baroque Soloists performed all 198 cantatas throughout Europe and in New York.

They were written for every Sunday and feast day in the Church calendar and have been released at intervals over the past 10 years. The 27-volume series ends with these settings of sacred words for Christmas-tide. With 10 top-flight soloists, it brings this awe-inspiring project to a powerful end.
