SERIOUS @ the cross

Every Friday night hundreds of clubbers queue up outside Bagley's Studios, unaware that they're standing opposite a small gem of a venue.

But there have been changes over at the Cross. Renaissance has moved to Saturday nights, Liquid to Sundays and Serious to Friday nights.

Serious attracts hardened and stylish clubbers and there's simply nowhere else to be on warm summer nights. Those in the know chill in the garden before rejoining the dancefloor where residents, Commie and 2Funky, keep the floor humming.

The well-dressed crowd is matched by a lush interior aesthetic; the crowd here are a little more cosmopolitan than Renaissance's Saturday night mob but the night retains the strong atmosphere of community that the Cross always seems to engender - it has a capacity of around 400.
