Cannily beating the competition (and the calendar) by two days, the Comedy Store is hosting a "Day Before the Day Before St Patrick's Day" special on Monday. It has become a truism that the Irish seem to be taking over the London circuit - and this bill bears it out.
Even without the likes of Sean Hughes, Dylan Moran and Tommy Tiernan, this is an impressive line-up. John Moloney will be introducing Michael Smiley, Owen O'Neill (above), Kevin Gildea, Jason Byrne, Ed Byrne, Kevin Hayes and Ed Bannon. The special guests will be the spoof Irish band, Liverdance. Many of these acts major on what is being seen as an Emerald Isle speciality - a likeable brand of rambling story-telling which you might characterise as an "Irish Rover".
