WHOSE ROUND is it? (In which painting, by which painter?)

Details 374 came from Guido Reni's David Holding the Head of Goliath (1601-05), with its nice flanking of metaphorical masonry: smooth, round column (for sweet boy) against chipped square block (for rough giant). The picture is in the Louvre.

The first three correct answers for Details 374 came from: Susan Halls of London SW15; Ian Royle of Kendal, Cumbria; and Michael Philpot of Leiston, Suffolk.

Each will receive a bottle of champagne, as will this week's winners. Answers, on a postcard (to arrive by Wed 18 Mar), to: DETAILS 376, IoS,

1 Canada Square, London E14 5DL.
