THE CRITICS who continually accuse Woody Allen of wilful self-indulgence will never be won over by such films as Deconstructing Harry (10pm Sky Premier, right). His fans, however, were delighted by this typically clever portrait of Harry Block (Allen), a neurotic writer confronted by real-life versions of his fictional characters. The supporting cast for this satellite premiere features appearances by Billy Crystal, Demi Moore, Robin Williams and Kirstie Alley.

It is rare that a movie spawns a highly successful TV series, but that is what happened with M*A*S*H (10pm Sky Cinema). Scripted by the Oscar- winning Ring Lardner Jr, Robert Altman's anarchic black comedy stars Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould as medics working in a shambolic mobile army service hospital during the Korean War.
