THE ENCHANTED circle surrounding writer Dorothy Parker made an ideal subject for the arthouse film-maker Alan Rudolph, who had already covered the literary milieu of F Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway in The Moderns. In Mrs Parker and the Vicious Circle (8pm FilmFour), an intriguing satellite premiere, Jennifer Jason Leigh (right) plays the author who held celebrated literary lunches with such writers as Alexander Woollcott (Tim McGowan), Charles MacArthur (Matthew Broderick) and Robert Benchley (Campbell Scott) in New York's Algonquin Hotel during the 1920s.

Derby matches are usually passionate affairs, but tonight's encounter between the Midlands rivals, Coventry City vs Aston Villa (7pm Sky Sports 1), will have added spice. The Villa striker, Dion Dublin, used to be a star player at Highfield Road.
