Edinburgh Festival 1993: WORD OF MOUTH
Johnny Meres, formerly Johnny Immaterial, is less than enthusiastic about acclaimed Hungarian production Soiree. 'I'm sick of people ripping me off.' Carl Dinnen from Belfast feels he got value for money with Emily Woof's Revolver. 'A highly charged study of fan psychology.' Geraldine from Morayshire describes Lip Service's Withering Looks as 'great entertainment', while saving her greatest praise for Richard Goode's performance of a Schubert sonata at the Usher Hall. The Griffith family from New Jersey describe Instant Sunshine at the Pleasance as 'very cute and absolutely hysterical. It should have had an audience of 100.' Fellow American Greg Proops, performing at the Assembly Rooms, offers his own must-see list: 'Berkoff because he's Berkoff; Parrot at Stepping Stones because they're mates of mine; the Del Rubio Triplets if you have the stamina.'
