The nominees for the coveted Perrier Award for Comedy were announced yesterday. This year's victor will be chosen from:

Perrier's 1996 Best Newcomer, Milton Jones; Madcap Johnny Vegas (see review, right); The Blackly Comic Sketch Show; The League of Gentlemen; Former Mother Teresa of Calcutta; Graham Norton; and the King of Beers, Al Murray.

The winner will be announced at midnight on Saturday.
