The seventh of this year's Independent / Traverse Theatre concerences is to be held today and is certain to be one of the major talking points in Edinburgh. David Mellor, Secretary of State for National Heritage, will be taking questions from the audience in a conference chaired by Andreas Whittam Smith, editor of the Independent.

People wishing to put questions to Mr Mellor should hand them in to the Traverse box office before the conference. This conference will take place in Traverse One, the larger auditorium.

All conferences are at 11am and are free, in the new Traverse Theatre, Cambridge Street (031-228 1404).
