As night falls, a city park comes to life. A woman with a camera snaps busily, illuminating sexual encounters; a stoned hippy ruminates on life; a German student attempts to woo a botanist exploring the undergrowth. These evocative snapshots illustrate Suspect Culture's abandonment of any formal structure for The Garden. They draw on cinematic techniques to create a well- paced, if slightly contrived, collage of assignations and confrontations. David Grieg's script is a clever blend of humour and observation, aided considerably by Nick Powell's superb soundtrack. But although the performers eventually find their natural rhythm, the mechanical choreography lacks the warmth which the subject matter requires.

St Columba's by the Castle, Johnston Terrace (venue 4), 031-225 7993. To 5 Sept.
