Phill Jupitus

Most comics are happiest surfing from one topic to the next at breakneck speed on a something-for-everyone basis. prefers to slow things down and transform what might have been a five-minute sequence into an hour of, in this case, zoological fantasy. In the later of two nightly shows (the other is Ready Jedi Go!, an hour of Star Wars material), Jupitus's awesome, shouty presence fills the stage as he re-enacts primate porn on the bonnet of his Ford Sierra at Longleat, or works up a spellbinding mime sequence involving an argument between three lions while stalking a chicken. Perhaps there's a small debt to Eddie Izzard, but it's a brave piece of comedy all the same.
