It was very colourful. The bird's-eye-view paintings were so vivid, with great blocks of shapes and colour. I also liked the paper cups. It was very inventive the way he'd hung from the ceiling the cups he'd mixed his paint in. You could stand underneath them for ages. I was very impressed with the whole show.

I love the sheen that comes off the gloss paints. But I was surprised with the blobs of paint, where he'd left drops of gloss paint to dry. I thought "What a cheek"; then I thought I'd do that at home myself. But the more I looked, I was drawn by the simplicity and starkness of the colours. My initial disappointment grew into great admiration.

It's not the kind of painting that you feel completely transported by, or overwhelmed by when you leave. But it's beautiful, it's aesthetically pleasing. He has a very personal way of putting the work together - the way of using colours is proper to him, not anyone else. They're decorative pieces, paintings you'd like to have in your home.

I found it uninteresting. It didn't do anything for me at all. I thought the work was like something you'd find in a Conran shop. The big paintings do have more of an impact, but he made more of an impression in his past work, particularly at "Sensation". It's a disappointment because, as a festival exhibition, it should be a big attraction.
