Martin Cheek's Leaping Salmon (above) is just one of more than 100 works by 60 contemporary sculptors, glass workers and potters to go on show, alfresco, at the third Quenington Sculpture Show, which opens today. The show, which is held in the riverside gardens of Quenington Old Rectory (seven miles east of Cirencester), combines pieces by established artists such as Lynn Chadwick and Sophie Ryder with emerging talent, and the work displayed is for sale. The centrepiece of the show is an 11ft- high rope Lion and Unicorn, designed by Oliver Hill in 1953 for the Cirencester Coronation celebrations and now restored to its original glory.
