Describe your music in three words
Adjective and noun
If you owned a festival, what would you call it and why?
"Floyd peppers rest home weekend brake festival for the terminally funky”. It would be a program based on great overlooked sub-sonic plank spanking bass men and their overrated bands. Posthumous headliner Donald Duck Dunn featuring Booker T. & the MGs.
Who from the Festival No. 6 line-up is your must see act?
Poet Mike Garry. Mike is debuting his tribute poem to Anthony H. Wilson called “St. Anthony”, accompanied by an orchestra. prOmises to be a highlight of the festival and not to be missed.
Name five people (dead and alive) you would like to go to a festival with
Charlotte Rampling, Kathy Burke, Jon Snow, Les Dawson and Doctor Bowley, my GP.
What’s your best festival moment?
Talking to Isaac Hayes who was next to me in the queue at passport control in Narita airport on the way back from the Fuji Rock Festival. He was bigger than he looked on TV.
What record changed your life?
New Rose by the Damned. Still the furious call to arms and inspiration now as it was then.
What record changed your life?
“Bring back hanging… for everyone”
Who would be your ideal headlining act at a festival?
Nina Simone
Who were your biggest influences?
John lydon, Peter Cook, Mr. Boothroyd my O-level English teacher and my parents Michael and Dulcie who showed me the value of love, hard work and being self employed.
What inspires you?
Ideas, words, work, struggle and laughter.
What’s coming up for you in the next year?
My 30 birthday. I can’t believe it.
