A likely Oscar nominee for her performance in Black Swan, Natalie Portman will follow up that film with a romantic comedy, No Strings Attached, on January 21, followed by the comedy Your Highness on April 8, Marvel's superhero adventure Thor on May 8, and the indie film The Other Woman on February 4 in the US.

The first trailer for The Other Woman was released December 28 and follows the story of a woman's difficult relationship with her stepson after she suddenly loses her own child.

As the footage begins, the drama appears to be about the character's affair with a married man, but as the excerpts unfold, it becomes clear that "the other woman" is about the boy's birth mother.

Based on the novel Love and Other Impossible Pursuits by Ayelet Waldman, it is adapted by director Don Roos ( Bounce and the writer of Marley & Me). Costars include Lisa Kudrow ( Friends) and Lauren Ambrose ( Six Feet Under).

This film, which played the Toronto Film Festival in 2009 and has since been released for television in some international markets, will also be available for Video-On-Demand in the US on January 1.

The release of the film capitalizes on Portman's current success, but the timing of the trailer is coincidental to the announcement of her engagement and pregnancy.
