The conclusion to the Harry Potter series still emerged the resounding number-one offshore title, besting its closest competitor by a margin of nearly $60 million.
The magic continues for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which holds the top spot for the second consecutive weekend around the world.
The franchise finale collected $121.3 million across 59 territories for a total of $560.4 million - more than double the US gross, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite a 61 percent dip from the record $312.3 million opening last weekend, Deathly Hallows 2 reached the top spot in most markets with strong sales in the UK, Germany and France.
Worldwide, Harry Potter drew an impressive $834.6 million in just a dozen days, with records set in Latin America, Russia and Mexico. China's opening happens on August 4. The eight Harry Potter titles have made more than $7.2 billion so far.
In second, Transformers: Dark of the Moon took in $62 million in 60 countries, lifting the foreign box office total to $556.6 million.
The 3D sci-fi action-adventure starring Shia LaBeouf marked a record-breaking debut for a US film in China with $40 million - which is more than the best opener Avatar by 72 percent. Transformers 3 debuts in
Japan on July 29.
In third place, Cars 2 generated $17.7 million in its fifth week in 31 countries, opening with $6.1 million in the UK. The animated 3D family-friendly film has made $350.1 million worldwide. It opens in France, Germany and Japan this weekend.
Fourth was Mr. Popper's Penguins, earning $11.9 million in 46 markets. In France, Mexico and Spain, the kid's comedy starring Jim Carrey opened in second place.
Another animal movie, Zookeeper, ranked fifth globally for a total of $9 million in 35 territories. Opening in 19 more territories, the comedy starring Kevin James included second-place debuts in Russia, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates.
Other notable films include the animated 3D film Kung Fu Panda 2, with Jack Black, which made $8.3 million on the weekend in 58 territories.
Bridesmaids took an additional $7.9 million, opening in second in Sweden, second in Austria and fourth in Germany, and another female comedy, Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz, launched in Australia in second place, taking $7.9 million more this weekend.
Captain America: The First Avenger won the US box office with $65.8 million - the biggest superhero launch this year. The Marvel comics adaptation starring Chris Evans opened in Italy to $2.8 million and is set to expand to 23 markets including the UK, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and South Korea.
