Adam Lambert shuts down Bohemian Rhapsody sequel rumours: 'It doesn't make sense to me'

Singer hasn't heard 'anything' about possible sequel

Adam Lambert has shut down rumours of a possible Bohemian Rhapsody sequel, saying the idea of reviving the Queen biopic wouldn’t make sense to him.

The singer – who regularly acts as Queen’s vocalist – was asked about a potential sequel during an interview with NME.

“What would it be? A sequel? How would that work? It doesn’t make sense to me but I haven’t heard anything about it,” he said.

“But I somehow doubt that. Somehow... I don’t know what they would make the movie about.”

Rumours about a potential Bohemian Rhapsody sequel emerged in the spring, after music video director Rudi Dolezal told Page Six of Queen manager Jim Beach: ”I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.”

Dolezal added at the time that a sequel was being “heavily discussed”.

Bohemian Rhapsody, which stars Rami Malek as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, became the highest grossing music biopic ever in December 2018, with reported earnings of $608.7m (£​480m) around the world.

It earned four Academy Awards in February, including Best Actor for Malek.
