Avengers: Endgame directors respond to leaked footage by urging fans not to share spoilers
'Remember, Thanos still demands your silence'
The directors of Avengers: Endgame have asked fans not to spread spoilers after footage from the film leaked online.
Anthony and Joe Russo posted an open letter, addressed to "the greatest fans in the world", on Twitter.
They thanked fans for dutifully watching all 22 instalments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far and promised a “surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity Saga”.
“Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help,” the directors wrote.
“When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you. Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.”
The letter came just hours after a four-minute sizzle real of footage from Endgame, featuring multiple huge plot spoilers, leaked online.
Endgame was shrouded in so much secrecy that journalists weren’t permitted to see the film ahead of interviewing its many cast members, including Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, in the run-up to its release.
That didn’t stop Karen Gillan from revealing a bit too much about Nebula’s storyline in the new film. “I just got really nervous and gave something away,” she said in front of a crowded audience.

“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”
Anticipation for Endgame remains at fever pitch, with some opening night tickets to the film are being sold on eBay for upwards of $10,000 in the US.
Endgame reaches UK cinemas 25 April.
