Star Wars: Baby Yoda dolls become most in-demand plush figure toys on Amazon
'The Mandalorian' character has become a fan favourite
Baby Yoda dolls have risen to the top of their Amazon category in the lead-up to Christmas.
The character was introduced earlier this year in The Mandalorian, a new Star Wars show airing on Disney+, and rapidly became a fan favourite.
Demand for Baby Yoda dolls has been high, and the character now occupies the top spot on Amazon’s ranking of best-sellers in the plush figure toys category.
Baby Yoda thus beats Cabbage Patch Kids, which landed the second and third spots in the list, as well as the Fortnite llama, Pikachu, Buzz Lightyear, and other characters.
An 11-inch Baby Yoda plush toy costs $24.99 (£19) on the platform, with a planned delivery date on 25 May, 2020.
This means that the dolls have become the best-selling plush figure toys through pre-orders only, and won’t be actually available for another five months.
Amazon keeps separate categories for other types of plush toys, such as interactive items, plush pillows and plush puppets.
