Bad Santa 2 trailer drops an extremely adult Red Band trailer

Billy Bob Thornton returns in the sequel to the 2003 cult hit

Back in 2003, director Terry Zwigoff (Ghost World) brought the world one hell of an anti-Christmas film starring Billy Bob Thornton as the most debauched Santa committed to celluloid.

Fortunately, the 60-year-old actor is back for more and, in this Red Band trailer for the long-awaited sequel, his irascible Willie T. Stokes seems just as bad as he was 13 years ago - if not worse.

It seems that the film will (thankfully) follow very much in the original's footsteps.

Replacing Zwigoff in the directing chair is Mark Waters (Mean Girls) who has adapted a script written by Entourage creator Doug Ellin and Shauna Cross (Whip It!).

Brett Kelly, the actor who played child Thurston in the first, is returning - albeit more grown up - while Tony Cox's 'elf' accomplice Marcus is also coming back. New cast members include former Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and Academy Award-winner Kathy Bates who'll play Stokes' mother.

Bad Santa 2 - which is released in the UK on 25 November - has been in the works since 2009.
