Before Batman v Superman hit cinemas, many fans were concerned about Zack Snyder casting Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader.

However, despite some negative reviews, the majority of critics enjoyed Affleck’s performance, so-much-so that Warner Bros. announced a solo-Batman outing, written, directed and starring the Pearl Harbour actor.

Speaking at the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference, Warner Bros. CEO Jeff Bewkes revealed to the audience when to expect the film.

“Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he’s going to direct, star, write for – I think it’s a year and a half out,” he said according to audio unveiled by Suicide Squadcast. “So, the strategy worked.”

As there’s already a DC film set for release on 16 March 2018, The Flash, it seems unlikely we will see Batfleck’s film in 18 months. There is, however, a current “Untitled DCEU film” marked for 5 October 2018 which seems a more likely release date.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. bosses recently admitted they could do a “little better” with their DC films, something that shouldn’t be too difficult considering Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad’s negative reviews.
