Black Panther has not only broken multiple box office records, but now Twitter records as well.

According to the social media service, the Ryan Coogler-directed blockbuster has become of the most-Tweeted about movie of all time.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens previously held the record, with The Last Jedi just behind, but Black Panther has beaten both with a mammoth 35 million Tweets about the movie.

The most-used hashtags have been #BlackPanther, #Wakanda and #WakandaForever, while the most mentioned characters are the leading hero, followed by villain Killmonger and tech genius Shuri.

Kendrick Lamar holds the record for most popular tweet about Black Panther, the rapper having curated an album inspired by the movie.

In second place comes a viral post featuring two people hidden underneath a big coat, attempting to buy a single ticket. And in third, a Tweet from Michelle Obama reading: “Congrats to the entire Black Panther team! Because of you, young people will finally see superheroes that look like them on the big screen. I loved this movie and I know it will inspire people of all backgrounds to dig deep and find the courage to be heroes of their own stories.”

Meanwhile, the movie has become the first since Avatar to top the US box office five weekends in a row. Black Panther will also appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.
