Aaron Eckhart and Miles Teller star in Bleed For This

There's an eternal quality to the boxing film - a sport intrinsically weaved with blood, sweat, and sacrifice.

Every punch given, every taken: each become a visceral metaphor for the universal trials and triumphs of humanity, so it's no wonder the genre has steadily continued in its popularity throughout the decades.

With Ben Younger's Bleed For This, it's the story of Vinny Pazienza (AKA Vinny Paz) which makes its way to screen: the junior middleweight world champion who was forced to relinquish his title after breaking his neck in a vehicular accident, after being told by doctors that he would never fight again, perhaps never even walk again.

Yet Paz defied their gloomy diagnosis; he returned to the ring a mere thirteen months after the accident, beating future WBC World Jr. Middleweight Champion Luis Santana via a 10-round decision. Some would say it's the greatest comeback in boxing history.

Whiplash star Miles Teller features here as Paz, alongside Aaron Eckhart, Katey Sagal, Ciarán Hinds and Ted Levine. The film also has some pretty high profile backing in the form of Martin Scorsese, who serves here as executive producer.
