Bohemian Rhapsody: Exclusive clip shows Freddie Mercury actor recording Queen’s biggest song
Gallileo! Gallileo!
Today (5 September) marks what would have been Freddie Mercury's 72nd birthday.
To celebrate, The Independent is exclusively debuting a clip from upcoming Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody, which stars Rami Malek as the legendary performer.
The minute-long clip begins with Malek’s Mercury conducting the recording of the film’s titular song. We are suddenly transported from the studio to the stage, where Queen are performing the song that would prove to be one of their biggest hits.
Bohemian Rhapsody has had a relatively troubled production, with actors being dropped and directors constantly changing (midway through filming, Dexter Fletcher stepped in for Bryan Singer).
However, the trailers so far have been met with much excitement, with many people praising Malek’s likeness to the late singer. As you can see in our exclusive clip, they certainly share a striking resemblance.
Bohemian Rhapsody – which traces the band’s meteoric rise as well as Mercury’s personal struggles – reaches UK cinemas on 24 October.
