Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek clarifies awkward Nicole Kidman 'snub' at Golden Globes
It seems the duo may address the moment at a future awards ceremony
Rami Malek has hinted that he will reference his awkward Golden Globes encounter with Nicole Kidman at a future awards ceremony, while clarifying what exactly went down.
The Bohemian Rhapsody star found himself accidentally snubbed by Kidman on stage when he attempted to greet her after shed presented the cast and crew with the Best Film – Drama award.
Kidman, unaware Malek was trying to catch her attention, turned her back and left a mortified Malek standing awkwardly behind her.
It now seems the two have a skit planned for a future ceremony, most likely the Oscars.
“We may or may not have something planned out already,” he told Entertainment Tonight when asked if the two will address the viral moment.
“She’s been a friend for a long time, and that’s why the whole thing I find absolutely ridiculous and hilarious,” he added. “But I’m having a laugh about it all.”
He went on to clarify what actually happened up there on the stage.
“I got up there, and I was in such a daze I don't even know how I put together a collection of words that sounded coherent,. So the fact that I knew Nicole [was there], I was like, 'Oh, here's a bit of safety.' And then she just didn't see me. It was as simple as that.”
