Captain America: Civil War - Trailer

Finally, after what seems like an eternity since its announcement last year, the first trailer for Marvel's Captain America: Civil War has been released and it is as explosive and Avenger filled as to be expected.

Taking off where both Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron left off, the two-and-a-half minute clip opens with Bucky, Cap and Falcon meeting in what looks like a garage.

Suddenly, the trio are under attack, shots are fired and the government are accusing Chris Evans’s character of being a vigilante rather than a hero. Watch below.

Robert Downey Jnr’s Iron Man is seemingly hunting down Captain America for saving and protecting Sebastian Stan’s Bucky.

“He’s my friend,” says Cap, to which to which the armour wearing Tony Stark replies: “So was I”. Chills.

The trailer also gives a first official look at Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, in the film as well as a shot of Don Cheadle's War Machine with a broken helmet, looking down and out.

The final shot, of course, shows Bucky and Cap punching their way through Iron Man in what looks to be a pinnacle moment in the film.

Jimmy Kimmel released the trailer on his show last night, airing the world premiere of this two-minute version. Previously, an extended version was shown at comic-cons around the world.

However, in this version there is no appearance from Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Vision or villain Crossbones.

Phew. That’s a lot of superheroes in one movie. Luckily, the film is a Captain America film rather than an Avengers film, so the focus will hopefully remain on the flag bearers journey, rather than some intergalactic battle with Thanos which we can expect in Avengers 3.

Captain America: Civil War reaches cinemas 6 May 2016.
