Betty White‘s representative has assured fans she is “fine”, after they expressed concern over her wellbeing amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Following the news that Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have both tested positive for the illness, fans began asking about their favourite senior stars.

“Someone get Betty White into her own quarantine,” one person wrote on Twitter. “We can’t lose her,” another said.

White’s representative then told Today that “Betty is fine”, meaning fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Hanks posted an update late on Thursday 12 March to say he and Wilson are taking things “one day at a time” as they are treated for coronavirus.

“We have COVID-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else,” he explained in the update, which was posted to his Instagram account.

“There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time.

“There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?”
