Creed 2 trailer pits Michael B Jordan's Adonis against familiar rival Drago
It's another blast from the past for Sly Stallone
Creed is back in the first trailer for the Rocky spin-off sequel that earned acclaim and award nominations back in 2015.
Michael B. Jordan returns as the titular boxing champion in a film that will see Adonis face an opponent “with ties to his family's past.”
This is teased at the climax of the trailer which shows him in the ring with a fellow boxer named Drago, the son of franchise villain Ivan (Dolph Lundgren) who killed Creed's father, Apollo in 1985 sequel Rocky IV.
Helping him along the way will be Rocky Balboa himself with Sylvester Stallone - who was robbed of a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Creed - writing and producing the film from director Steven Caple Jr. Lundgren himself will reprise his villainous role for the film.
Westworld star Tessa Thompson can also be seen in the trailer which is sound-tracked to Kendrick Lamar song DNA.
Creed earned a sea of rave reviews upon its release in 2015 launching Jordan - whose previous credits include Chronicle and US series Friday Night Lights - ahead of his villainous role in Black Panther which united him with Creed director Ryan Coogler.
Creed II will be released nationwide on 30 November
