Three people have been charged with the alleged kidnapping of Halloween: Resurrection's Daisy McCrackin and fellow Hollywood actor Joseph Capone.

The trio were charged with kidnapping the pair from a Los Angeles home and holding Capone naked in a bath for 30 hours while demanding McCrackin pay a $10,000 (£7,600) ransom fee, according to prosecutors.

The suspects – Keith Andre Stewart, Johntae Jones and Amber Neal – were charged with 17 felony accounts which included kidnapping and assault with a firearm in connection with the incident.

Prosecutors allege the trio went to McCrackin's home in South Los Angeles on 3 May where they claim Stewart pistol-whipped Capone who was also in the home.

The suspects then allegedly drove the pair to Jones’ home in Compton, California, where Capone was allegedly stripped naked and starved in a bathtub for 30 hours.

Investigators said while Capone was being held, Jones and Neal took McCrackin's car and drove her to several different banks demanding she withdraw $10,000 for Capone's release.

Prosecutors said she was eventually forced to write a $10,000 check to Neal.

The next day, the suspects took McCrackin back to her home and she was able to escape and tell police about what had happened to her and Capone, authorities said.

Neal's arrest at gunpoint by Los Angeles police officers on Monday was captured by a bystander on video and has been viewed more than two million times on Twitter. It is not known when the other two were taken into custody.

Stewart, Jones and Neal’s other felony counts include grand theft, mayhem, conspiracy and possession for sale of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, an indictment showed on Tuesday.

Jones and Stewart also received firearm charges, while Stewart was charged with inflicting bodily harm on Capone.

While McCrackin is most famous for playing Donna in the 2002 slasher film Halloween: Resurrection - the eighth in the series - she also starred in the 2001 film 3000 Miles to Graceland, 2011's Atlas Shrugged: Part I and the 2018 Resurrection.

While Jones and Neil were being held on $1m each, Stewart was being held on more than $2m bail, according to prosecutors.

They each face potential sentences of up to life in prison. A court hearing is set for 23 July.
