In simpler times, long before Donald Trump announced he was running to be the 45th president of the United States, he was a New York business magnate whose favourite hobby was popping up in movies for no reason.

From playing himself in Home Alone 2 and Waldo’s father in The Little Rascals, you never knew where his perma-tanned head was going to appear next.

Despite appearing in so many films, Trump’s relationship with Hollywood is a tricky one. In the four years since he was elected US president, he has engaged in plenty of feuds with high-profile figures.

Celebrities such as Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt have publicly criticised the politician.

But as a prolific tweeter, Trump has rarely been one to miss an opportunity to shoot back in response.
