The cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - the upcoming JK Rowling penned trilogy based in the same magical world as Harry Potter - just got a whole lot bigger.

Earlier this week it was reported that Jon Voight, Gemma Chan and Selma’s Carmen Ejogo will be joining the Eddie Redmayne starring film.

The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Ron Perlman - best known for his role as the titular character in Hellboy - will also be joining the stellar cast, also featuring Collin Farrel and Ezra Miller.

Fantastic Beasts is currently shooting at Leavesden Studios, so expect casting announcements left, right and centre as the weeks go on.

Redmayne stars as the magizoologist Newt Scamander who is on a mission to document the world's most obscure creatures. Along the way he encounters numerous other wizards and witches, including Farrel’s character Graves in New York.

The spin-off is loosely based on the book of the same name, which itself is based on the textbook used by Harry Potter in the first novel, The Philosopher’s Stone.

A trilogy of films has so far been promised by Warner Bros. studio, the first of which will debut in November 2016.
