Fantastic Four 2: Michael B. Jordan is actually on board for a sequel, because 'why not?'

Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan actually seems up for a sequel, despite the film being a gargantuan flop.

When questioned by IGN on whether he'd return to the role of the Human Torch, if given the opportunity, the star responded; "I love the character. I’m a big comic book fan, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it in the first place. We’ll see what happens." further adding, "Johnny Storm is an incredible character. Why not?"

An optimistic take on a bleak future for the franchise. Originally hyped as a gritty reboot of 2005 and 2007's colorful, whizz-bang Fantastic Four movies, the production was quickly plagued with issues; including widely reported tensions between Fox and director Josh Trank. Whether doomed to fail or not, the film opened to a critical slaughter and a gross of only $168M on top of a $120M budget. Ouch.

Though Fantastic Four 2 was originally set for a summer 2017 release date, Fox then very quietly (and quite sneakily) removed the film from their upcoming slate last November. 

Jordan, at least, doesn't seem to have become too disillusioned by the flop; taking this opportunity to revel in a few life lessons, "I think it was a big education for me to realise that things aren’t in your control, and you can do everything you’re supposed to do," he reflected. "You can give 110% every day, and the movie still not work out. But that may or may not be on you and you’ve got to be okay with that."
