Film trailer: 'Wall Street' sequel 23 years later
Director Oliver Stone returns to his 1987 hit Wall Street, bringing back Michael Douglas in his emblematic role as Gordon Gekko for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. And the timing seems right.
Greed is good, the first film's mantra, packs new meaning 20 years later when Gekko is released from prison. Though he warns of the impending economic doom, he lacks credibility, so the former corporate raider partners with a young Wall Street trader (Shia LaBeouf) with ulterior motives in mind.
The all-star cast also features Carey Mulligan ( An Education), Susan Sarandon ( The Lovely Bones), Josh Brolin ( W, Milk), and Martin Sheen ( The Departed) as well as the return of his son Charlie Sheen.
The film releases April 23 in the US and select countries internationally.
