Frozen beats Bond to become second-biggest selling DVD of the decade
The animated Disney film overtook Skyfall as it passed 3m sales this week

When it comes to breaking records Frozen just can’t let it go – and now the film has passed the three million DVD/Blu-ray sales mark.
The animated Disney hit has not only become the biggest selling release of 2014, but has also overtaken Bond film Skyfall to become the second–biggest selling movie of the decade.
Frozen is one of just three releases to shift more than three million copies from 2010 onwards, according to figures from the Official Charts Company.
Only James Cameron’s CGI extravaganza Avatar now stands between it and the top spot - and with a month still to go until the end of the year, Christmas sales could well push Frozen into first place.
DVD and Blu-ray sales of Frozen last week amounted to 160,000 copies, pushing it through the three million barrier. It has also become one of the biggest DVD releases of all time, standing at number 15 in the list.
Fans learned yesterday that the promised Frozen short film sequel has been confirmed to screen ahead of Disney’s live action Cinderella remake next March.
Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and talking snowman, Olaf, will be back for Frozen Fever early in 2015.
Frozen has amassed enormous sales since its release in the spring, shifting 899,000 copies in its first week, and it is the biggest animated movie of all time.
The soundtrack is the second biggest selling album of the year with more than 800,000 copies sold. The song "Let It Go" has achieved 779,000 sales.
Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot said: “The British fans have taken Olaf and his pals to their hearts this year. [The figures] can leave no-one in any doubt of that.”
